Beauty From Ashes T-Shirt / Supporting Victims of the Carlton Complex Fire

Posted on: August 6th, 2014 by Hannah Beasley 3 Comments

Three weeks ago the worst fire in Washington state history burned through the Carlton Complex area. Many people have lost their homes and now have to pick up the pieces and start over. I don’t think any of us who haven’t been through something like this can really understand what people are going through there – I can’t imagine losing every material thing I have in one day. But despite all the tragedy that many people have been through and are going through right now, people are coming together to help each other; and I know it has brought a lot of hope and comfort to everyone.

Kristin Wall (who heads up the group Delight) and her family live in that area (and thankfully did not lose their home or the Delight house, which is currently under construction), and they are very much involved in helping everyone in their area. One of the things they’re doing to help raise money is selling a t-shirt I had the pleasure of designing – it reads “Beauty from Ashes / Carlton Complex Fire 2014.”

If you would like to help support victims of the fire and would like a t-shirt (that I personally think is pretty cool ;) ), please go to this link and sign up! All the proceeds will go to help people who have been affected by the fire. There is just one week left to sign up – so get those orders in! I’d also ask you to send this on to people you know – the farther we spread the word, the more we can help. Thank you guys!

Bliss + Blessings / Blog Design + Mood Board

Posted on: August 6th, 2014 by Hannah Beasley No Comments

When Jessie first emailed me, I knew this project was going to be fun. And then when I saw her pinterest board, I knew it would end up being totally awesome. The one thing she knew she wanted to be sure to include in her design was lots of flowers. Her colors were pink and and light turquoise/blue – shades that are very floral! Because everything ended up going so fast I didn’t get a chance to share her mood board until now – I really like how it turned out!

We ended up hand lettering her header (I used one of my favorite brush markers – a Zig clean color brush), and the flowers I used were actually from her pinterest board, and turned out to be a very old, public domain painting that was perfect for her style! I added a little gold glitter with the social media buttons, and put some more flowers throughout the sidebar.

I really love how it turned out, and had a great time working with Jessie! She was so kind and easy to please – which made this whole project that much more fun! Check out her site here.

I’m Back! (+ Monday Inspiration)

Well, it’s been over a month since I last blogged or shared anything on my Facebook page – I’ve neglected all things social media for far too long! The past month and a half has been so full. I spent three wonderful weeks in Minnesota with my friends and attended a friend’s wedding, and then when I came back home I had just about the busiest week and a half I’ve ever had with work! I had worked during my time away, but when you’re with people you love it’s very hard to spend time not with them, but with work. So I had quite a pile of responsibilites when I got back!

I’m glad to be back in the social media world, and am looking forward to sharing the projects I’ve been working on recently. In the past few weeks I’ve wrapped up two blog designs, and am nearing the finish line of a few other, bigger branding projects! All in all I’m really enjoying it!

I really love the colors and style of this mood board! We’re working with hand lettered script and incorporating pops of gold, and I’m excited about what the final product will look like.

Monday Inspiration (a little late)

Well, I’m a little late with this blog post. Last week I flew from NC up to MN and the last few days have been so fun hanging out with my friends and seeing everyone again!
