Be Thou My Vision, Oh Lord of My Heart / Wallpaper

“Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light. High King of Heaven, my victory won,May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.” That hymn is one of my favorites – and I thought I’d make another wallpaper using the first line from it. I just ordered some new brushes (Yasutomo Silverado – sizes 2, 3, 4). I already had the 00 brush…

I love this lady’s style (photo in the upper right corner). Neuteral colors + simple style + leather bag – that’s pretty much the perfect outfit in my book! I just discovered the blog Unfancy, where the lady in this photo, Caroline, blogs about creating and maintaining a capsule wardrobe. Every time I work with Meghan I have so much fun – she is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever gotten to know. I had designed her blog about a year or two ago, and recently she emailed me saying she was going to be changing her blog a little bit – including the name and the design. She’s an author (and just published her first book, a historical fiction novel about the Civil War!) and after a few years of blogging and figuring out the direction she wanted to go, she was ready to bring it all together…

I started the week off right today, with a homemade latte at home and then a venti latte at Starbucks (the homemade one won). Just within this first weekday I’ve had so much variety in work. It makes it more fun to have multiple projects that require different skill sets and styles – I can spend my morning deep in code, move on to a hand lettering project, and then work on print products all within the same work day. I like how within the designing/developing world so much is excercised. You have your techinical side and your artistic side,…

Beauty From Ashes T-Shirt / Supporting Victims of the Carlton Complex Fire

Three weeks ago the worst fire in Washington state history burned through the Carlton Complex area. Many people have lost their homes and now have to pick up the pieces and start over. I don’t think any of us who haven’t been through something like this can really understand what people are going through there – I can’t imagine losing every material thing I have in one day. But despite all the tragedy that many people have been through and are going through right now, people are coming together to help each other; and I know it has brought a…
