Today was a hot bowls of soup, pancakes for lunch, sweaters and coffee kind of day. It was a get up early and work hard day, when you don’t have any spare time but you don’t care because you’re doing what you love. It was a stop for a minute (or five) and watch the gold and orange leaves float and twirl in the wind, a piano music and scores kind of day. It was good.

We Went to the Fair
Each October finds us in a slight frenzy as we get ready for the fair. Almost every one of us enters baked goods, sewn items, crafts, and art. Getting all those entries ready is always crazy and awesome, something we look forward to each year. The fair opened yesterday, and we got to go with some of our friends to see our entries and just enjoy the day. I’m Getting Excited
I’ve decided I want to live outside now. There’s a chill in the wind, an excitement in the air, something that beckons me outdoors. I have a sudden urge to grab a blanket and some coffee, and find an abandoned field to just sit in with only the trees for company. Fall is almost here, and I can’t wait.
Magic
There is magic in the world – there is a place and a time where the fairies come out and dance in the liquid gold that spreads across the sky and land like a fine mist. A whole world apart from our own comes into being when the sun rises each morning, when the darkness gives way to light and the dew drops shimmer on the grass. Instead of all being blue and green, brilliant hues of red, orange, yellow, and purple flood the sky and slip filmy covers of gold and scarlet over the leaves. I love that time…
Summer
They came so quickly – the hot days, the blueberry picking, glasses of strawberry lemonade while sitting outside – and they’re already flying by. Wasn’t it just yesterday that school was barely out, when the days still had a hint of cool from the winter? Now the sunflowers have bloomed, the grapes are close to ripening on their green vines, and the days are long. I suppose it’s the way of time – how the days seem to slip by without any effort, how sunrise fades into sunset in the blink of an eye. I’m trying harder to stop my…
