Woody + Amy : Engaged

Posted on: August 14th, 2013 by Hannah Beasley 8 Comments

Woody and Amy are some of the kindest, sweetest people you’ll ever meet. They love to tell stories and they love to laugh – in fact, they laughed their way through this whole session and I loved it! They are genuinely full of the joy of Christ and you can see how very much they love each other. They met at Wake Forest University when Woody was in undergrad and Amy was in medical school – she gave a talk about Kenya and he was there. Some time passed and they both ended up in the same place, at the same church. Well, they got to know each other and before you know it they had fallen in love. So they decided they needed to get married and move to Kenya and that’s exactly what they’re going to do!

(This was the first photoshoot I have ever done and I am so grateful to Woody and Amy for asking me to do their photos! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience – it was so fun.)

Monday Inspiration

I think last week was the craziest, busiest work week I’ve ever had. It’s been such a blessing to have the amazing clients that I do, and to have these truly awesome projects to work on. I have a number of them that are finished or close to being finished and I’m looking forward to blogging them and sharing what I’ve been up to recently!

(Some photos from this week. I’ll be taking Wednesday through the rest of the week off in order to pack and fly up to MN. I’m looking forward to it so very much, but I will miss my family and my little Rusty and Carley. Aren’t they the cutest things? ;) )

Summer Night

Sunday night was a wade in the river, go on hay rides, roast hot dogs, sit around the fire, make s’mores kind of night. We were at a farm that belongs to our friends and I couldn’t help marveling all day at how gorgeous it is there. We live in an area where you never really see the sun come up or go down – tree lines and hills hide it. So seeing the gorgeous sunset from the top of the hill that night was amazing. My camera can’t do it justice! Maria and I kept saying “we’re going to be in that sky in a few days…oh boy. It’s big.” ;)

And on top of that it was so wonderful to do these seemingly simple things and enjoy time with others. The last year of my life has been one big lesson in trusting and loving the Lord…obeying Him in my life. And just getting to see the very real fruits of that, in being with others, was something I treasure. Sunday was the perfect summer night.

Monday Inspiration

The last few days have been so busy – my sister and I are going to be flying up to Minnesota to visit our wonderful friends in less than two weeks, and there are so many things that have to get done before I leave! It’s fun, though, and I’m glad for that. I’m just so excited to see my friends again – it’s amazing how the Lord has worked all the details out to enable us to go. I didn’t think a couple months ago that this would be possible, and yet it’s happening! I’m so thankful.

Happy Monday, friends!
