Addie Zierman : Blog + Business Cards

Posted on: September 19th, 2013 by Hannah Beasley 6 Comments

I loved working with Addie on her blog design and business cards – we were going for a professional, writerly feel. She chose a beautiful teal and a burnt orange/gold for her colors, and we went with a very clean and simple layout for the bulk of the design. We ended up moving her site to a new domain, and she was so patient with me as we both worked through all the tiny details of moving and redirecting. We also did business cards for her, which was great as I got to collaborate with Eric and Hannah from Typeset Design. They did an excellent job printing the cards!

Monday Inspiration

It isn’t easy to say goodbye to people you love like family. There’s an ache in your chest, like someone took a piece of your heart, and the ache doesn’t really go away. You just learn how to live with it until you see them again. And you remember all your times with them and thank God for giving them to you.

We flew home from MN almost two weeks ago, and it’s still hard to believe our visit is already over. Three weeks sounded like a lot of time…but it flew past! Being with my friends – my friends who truly are like my second family – was wonderful, and I miss them more than I can even say. We said goodbye the morning we left before everyone left for work or school, and even though I know I’ll see them again (Lord willing) it was hard. But then we were home that night and glad to see our family again. It’s crazy how something can be so bittersweet, isn’t it?

I took an unintentional break from the online world while I was in MN and after I got back home – because it seriously has taken almost two weeks for me to get back into the swing of normal life. It is good to be back – and I have so much to share on this blog, including quite a few finished projects as well as parts of upcoming ones and photos I’ve taken over the past month!

Minneapolis Photoshoot

The last two weeks in Minnesota have been the best. I’m so glad everything worked out for us to come here again this year! I’ve kind of slipped, though, when it comes to social media and blog posts, because I am frankly having a blast here and don’t want to think about anything else! ;) You know how that is, right? But I wanted to share some photos we took in Minneapolis a couple days ago. These girls (and the rest of their siblings) are my very best friends and I am so thankful for this time with them.

I love simplicity. To me the thoughtful, uncomplicated designs are the very best, the most striking. I love the piece in the upper left hand corner. There can be so much power in just choosing the right typeface. So beautiful.

My sister and I arrived in MN on Thursday after flying by ourselves for the first time (and yes we got through our St. Louis plane change just fine…something I’m kind of proud of. ;) ) The way things worked out for us to come is pretty amazing – at least I think so. The Lord just opened all the doors and really provided for both of us to do this. We’ve been having an awesome time with our friends and it is so wonderful to be back with them again. I missed them so very much the past few months. We’ll be here for three weeks (!!!) and I am looking forward to sharing more photos from our time here!

So She Says : Blog Design

I knew I would have a lot of fun working on this project as soon as Bailey started telling me what she was envisioning for her site! Her colors were light pink, orange, and ocean tones – pretty gorgeous colors, especially together. {see the mood board} I think my favorite parts of this design are the category links – the dusty blue with pink accent lines. I love the sleek feel of it. It was wonderful working with Bailey and I’m so happy with our final product!

Go check out her blog and be sure to follow it! It will definitely be one to keep up with.
