December {And a Website}

We spent Saturday at Old Salem, a historical site that we’ve been to countless times, but that is still a fun place to go in December. Saturday was their Christmas day – there was music and other activities for the younger kids, and decorations were all over the place. What made it fun, though, was that my Dad came with us. Actually, Dad and I were having competitions all day for best photographer. ;) Christmas just isn’t Christmas without the cold. Christmas is in the Air

I spent November bemoaning the fact that Christmas was going up all over the place – in WalMart, online, even on the radio. But now…well, I’m ready for it. We decorated the house on December 1st, and nothing but Christmas music has been playing ever since. (Speaking of which, Christmas in Diversecity by TobyMac and Oh, for Joy by David Crowder Band are the best Christmas cds ever!) We’re already busy with the holiday season! My brother had has birthday, which we celebrated at Starbucks (where else, right?), and we got to hear the Messiah with some very close friends…

My Story

This week was a time of baking and preparation for Thanksgiving, a time to spend a few precious moments together as a family, simply being together and drinking french presses at our favorite coffee shop. This week was me urging my brother Micaiah on to finish his novel by November 30st, spending hours talking with him about his plot and how to go about writing a whole novel. We’ve spent hours outside doing nothing but writing! This week was decorating pie shell leaves to go on the pie and cake that we had on Thursday, with the help of Jo….
