We spent Saturday at Old Salem, a historical site that we’ve been to countless times, but that is still a fun place to go in December. Saturday was their Christmas day – there was music and other activities for the younger kids, and decorations were all over the place. What made it fun, though, was that my Dad came with us. Actually, Dad and I were having competitions all day for best photographer. ;)
Christmas just isn’t Christmas without the cold. I love it when the time comes to break out the scarves and coats; when everyone’s faces are red when they come inside for hot cocoa. Everything seems so alive in the fall and winter; like as if the slow, sluggish air has finally decided to wake up. (That said, it was in the sixties yesterday. None of us were too happy about that. North Carolina is just so different from Minnesota! =P)
So, here’s to hoping that it will get cold again this month – and that maybe, maybe we will have a white Christmas?!?
How about you? Are you looking forward to the snow and cold?
*I have finally finished designing and setting up my personal website – my “central hub” for all my hobbies and my work. Check it out, why doncha?*
Love your pictures!! Our family went to Old Salem when we went to NC a couple years ago! It’s so cool! And I really, really, really like your new website!
Oh wow, that’s cool, Emily! =D
Thanks!
I want to know who won the photography contest! ;) I love the cold! My friends think that I’m strange, but you are right sour feeling alive–I think its because the cold snaps our sluggish minds and bodies into action. We don’t have any make here in Minnesota, it all melted since it has been in the thirties this week! We’d better have snow for Christmas!
Haha I don’t think we decided on who won! =D
Yeah, I think it does! =D
I know! I think we’ve only had snow on Christmas one time since we’ve lived here…so I’m hoping it’ll happen again. =D
