Back Again

Posted on: April 10th, 2013 by Hannah Beasley No Comments

Just a few photos – I can’t believe we’re finally back home in MN, with our wonderful friends! Last night was almost like a dream, seeing them all again – and I’m so looking forward to spending time with them and taking photos this week.

Happy Wednesday.

Monday Inspiration

Posted on: April 8th, 2013 by Hannah Beasley No Comments

I’m writing this on Saturday, ready to schedule this post for Monday, and I am so excited. Excited to see so many of my friends again, excited to enjoy a break, excited to go back to the place I called home for so long. It’s been quite a few years since our family has had the chance to get out and go somewhere like this, and I know our trip and the memories we’ll make will be wonderful. I can hardly wait.

{Can we all take a moment to just appreciate Andria Lindquist’s genius? Each time I see her work I’m just amazed. THAT is talent, folks.}

Music>>What I’ve Been Listening To

Music is powerful, beautiful, and such a deep part of life for many people. It’s something that can touch the soul. I’m one of those people who just can’t work without music…it helps me concentrate and I love to listen to it. Lately I’ve been listening to so many of my favorite scores/pieces on Pandora (all those who listen to 40+ hours a month, please raise your hand), and here are some of the best.

1 >> Making Plans/Gathering the Clans {Braveheart, James Horner}
2 >> Viva La Vida {2 Cellos}
3 >> Across the Burren {Michelle McLaughlin}
4 >> Dark Night of the Soul {Philip Wesley}
5 >> War {Pearl Harbor, Hans Zimmer}

This Week In Pictures

Posted on: April 3rd, 2013 by Hannah Beasley 6 Comments

Ohhh, this week has been so busy! But good busy. I’m so thankful that I have work to do, even though there is a lot of it that must get done! I took a quick break today to play around with my new lens – the 50mm f1.8! It was one of those purchases that I decided I just needed to go for. It will be amazing to have it in MN, especially is it does exceptionally well in low light. I’m not a photographer by title, but I am so enjoying learning about my camera and about photography. I suppose a lot of freelance graphic designers get into photography – both mediums can be very closely connected!

I’m also starting to get things together for our trip! I can’t even say how exciting it is to be able to actually write a list like this. I can’t wait until we leave!

I spent a lot of time this week working on some hand lettered logos. I am not a hand letterer by any means – I’m just starting to learn the art of it – but I really am enjoying the process. My family and I are very much into collecting and using fountain pens, so beautiful writing is something I’ve always loved. (And let me tell you, there’s nothing like writing with real ink.)

Monday Inspiration

Posted on: April 1st, 2013 by Hannah Beasley 4 Comments

I know it’s spring, but I can’t help gravitating to images of log cabins in the forest, hot coffee on cold days, and couples snuggled up in sweaters and plaid blankets. What is it about the fall and winter that can grab us so much? I feel like each year, when the leaves start to turn colors and the bright colors of spring are exchanged the deeper shades of fall, that there is something in the air that brings everyone to life again. That snap in the wind is what I love so much. And I guess I’m missing it now, missing the snow and chill and gray skies. But spring will be beautiful, as will summer, and when fall comes again I’ll be ready.

What’s your favorite season?
