Vintage Coral

I really love the color scheme that we’re working with on this project – coral, ice blue, coffee brown and some glitter, too. We’re going for a retro/literary/simple look – not too modern, but still fresh and open. I’m looking forward to having the final product all ready to be seen!

Monday Inspiration (Eleven Months)

Posted on: June 11th, 2013 by Hannah Beasley 5 Comments

June marks eleven months of doing Monday Inspiration. For me it’s been a huge personal goal to be accomplishing week after week – I’ve always been horrible at scheduling blog posts. (I have a feeling everyone can relate…life has this tendency to interfere with so many things! ;)) I started this back in August because it was a day on which I needed to blog – but I really didn’t know what to blog about. So I took a handful of images from Pinterest, created a kind of collage of them, and posted it as some inspiration for the day. What has amazed me is that I’ve kept going with it – me, Hannah Beasley who can’t stick to anything when it comes to blogging! =) And I have learned so much from working on each board. There really is an art and a science to the combination of images – from using the grid system to putting colors side by side to choosing which styles of design to incorporate.

But really, the biggest thing that has influenced me has been you, my readers – from the comments here and there about how much you enjoy seeing the post each week, or how you just really like seeing all the posts on my blog. I know it sounds cheesy, and like I’m making a big deal out of nothing, but it really is true. Every comment, every like, every view motivates me to keep going and trying and learning. So thank you all very much. And I hope you enjoy today’s inspiration!

*And no, I’m not ending Monday Inspiration – it just occurred to me that it might sound that way! But no, I’m going to keep going with this for as long as I can.*

Black & White

Posted on: June 8th, 2013 by Hannah Beasley 4 Comments

A tiny piece of my week in black and white. (I know, I know, Starbucks again…one would think we live there from the photos I’ve taken. ;) ) I’m working with clients, constantly emailing people, and trying as hard as I can to finish up the site + blog + other brand elements before the end of next week. I’m so excited to finish everything – I’ve put a lot of time and effort into everything and have made it a point to slow down and really work through every detail. I truly believe that the more time you take with every project, the more of yourself that you pour into each one, the better everything will be.

Happy Saturday, friends!

Be Still

Posted on: May 30th, 2013 by Hannah Beasley 8 Comments

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling.

Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!

The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge.
-Psalm 46:1-3, 11-10

That verse – that passage – is such a comfort to me…to just stop and be still and know Jesus is God. Life gets put back into perspective when you do that – when you put aside your worries and your concerns and you remember that God is on His throne as the King of the Universe. I don’t think there’s anything more comforting than knowing He’s in control…and that He loves me.

I’ve been doing more hand lettering/handwriting in my projects and on my own, and I wanted to do some more today. I did this with normal Sharpie fine point pen (which is the most amazing non-fountain pen you could ever get. It uses real ink and is fantastic.). It’s simple, but it’s fun to try new things…in this case taking time to play around with different styles of writing – and even just slowing down long enough to form each letter! Because when I write, I normally go so fast that it’s hardly legible. It’s art, though, right? I hope you enjoy this wallpaper!
