O Come, Let Us Adore Him : Wallpaper

Posted on: December 13th, 2013 by Hannah Beasley 4 Comments

After making the song books for Christmas, I wanted to use this hand lettering again, so I thought I would just make a wallpaper! I’m a sucker for white lettering on photos (especially photos of evergreens) so this just seemed to fit.

Download links are below the image! (And yes, there’s a BlackBerry version too…considering I have one, I thought I should add it.)

We Went & Visited Winter

Over the last couple of days my family and I went on a sort of mini-vacation to a little town in Indiana…where we got to see our first snow of the year! We were very blessed to avoid any accidents on the road (we happened to be driving exactly when the ice on the roads was the worst…we ended up seeing around six or seven accidents in just a couple hours of driving), and once we got there we could just sit back and enjoy winter like we normally don’t experience it at home. ;) North Carolina, of course, only got some rain while most of the country got at least ice. This state never seems to get the memo when it’s winter…

It was great to have a short break from work, but I’m glad to get back to it for the next week and a half! There are so many projects I’m working on right now (including some of my own that I’m very excited about!) and it’ll be fun to share more of those as time goes by.

Monday Inspiration

This month I’m doing a lot with simple design + gold + lights. I’ve just discovered how much I love gold that has a subtle glitter…it’s so classy. And it makes me think of Christmas, so that’s good too!

Stars and Sky

I love the entire concept + style + end goal of this project. We’re going to end up creating a simple, clean design with bits of strong contrast here and there. My favorite part of all of this is probably the color scheme – deep gold on midnight blue, with light grays to soften it all up. Talk about striking!

I’m seriously looking forward to sharing more of this project!

Of Christmas and Gifts

Posted on: December 4th, 2013 by Hannah Beasley 6 Comments

Every year our family comes up with one big gift to give to our closest friends and family. Sometimes it’s an ornament, sometimes it’s a shirt; and this year it’s a little songbook with eleven favorite Christmas hymns. I really wanted to help out on this one, because it’s the type of thing I enjoy doing! So we ended up going with a hand-lettered design (turned into a stamp) on brown kraft paper, printed lyrics + music on the inside, and tied everything together with hemp and twine. I still have more to do (we’re sending out nearly fifty!), but it’s been a surprisingly fast and easy project. I really love how these turned out! They’ve gotten me in the mood for more holiday crafting.

Do you enjoy making your own presents?
