Listening to Of Monsters and Men and Mumford and Sons. Ready for the cold and the snap in the wind and sweaters and hot apple cider. Excited for the busyness and fun of fair week. Need to head to the thrift store for more cozy sweaters. Learning to be content and thankful for every day. Life goes by so quickly – too quickly. Trying new things in design. Simplifying and focusing on what’s important. Missing my friends and thankful for them. Want to get out there and do more with my art… growing is good. Wishing we had a Caribou…

Minneapolis Photoshoot

The last two weeks in Minnesota have been the best. I’m so glad everything worked out for us to come here again this year! I’ve kind of slipped, though, when it comes to social media and blog posts, because I am frankly having a blast here and don’t want to think about anything else! ;) You know how that is, right? But I wanted to share some photos we took in Minneapolis a couple days ago. These girls (and the rest of their siblings) are my very best friends and I am so thankful for this time with them.

Woody + Amy : Engaged

Woody and Amy are some of the kindest, sweetest people you’ll ever meet. They love to tell stories and they love to laugh – in fact, they laughed their way through this whole session and I loved it! They are genuinely full of the joy of Christ and you can see how very much they love each other. They met at Wake Forest University when Woody was in undergrad and Amy was in medical school – she gave a talk about Kenya and he was there. Some time passed and they both ended up in the same place, at the…

Sunday night was a wade in the river, go on hay rides, roast hot dogs, sit around the fire, make s’mores kind of night. We were at a farm that belongs to our friends and I couldn’t help marveling all day at how gorgeous it is there. We live in an area where you never really see the sun come up or go down – tree lines and hills hide it. So seeing the gorgeous sunset from the top of the hill that night was amazing. My camera can’t do it justice! Maria and I kept saying “we’re going to…

Monday Inspiration

Pine trees, browns, rustic styles…I can’t ever get enough of it! That’s one thing I really miss about Minnesota – all the beautiful pine trees. Where I live in NC we have very few of them. It’s interesting, too, how different the colors of foliage are from state to state – in Minnesota they’re deeper, here they’re very bright. (when we were driving from MN to NC back in April we couldn’t get over how crazy the transition was from deep green/brown/gray to vivid green/light brown!) {all images via pinterest. clockwise, from top left: 1 : 2 : 3 :…
