Monday Inspiration

I really do love putting these inspiration boards together every Monday – it gives me a chance to take a break from work and do something different, something that is 100% up to me. Not that I don’t love working with clients. I do. But changing things up is always so fun to do.

For the past few weeks (actually, that would be months), I’ve felt the need to put everything aside and do a complete re-brand for myself. I feel like that’s getting so cliché right now…because working on your brand is so fun, without a doubt, and so many people like to “re-brand” every three months. But seriously, when your clients start noticing that your website/logo is wildly different in design/feel/style from your current work and blog, it’s time to change something. (Yes, that did happen, and thank you to that client for pointing it out! Seriously!) I had decided last fall that I needed to start on this…but it’s taken me until this month to finally get to work not just re-branding, but re-thinking how I work with clients, the overall process, and my own daily schedule. So that’s what’s been preoccupying me recently, and I am so excited to finally finish all of this! I’m hoping to be done and ready to go within two weeks…but we’ll see. ;)

We’ve pretty much spent the past month outside and at Starbucks. You definitely can’t beat that. Summer is slowly coming to NC (although the weather is still so confused here – one day it’s 80 degrees and the next it’s 60), and I’m trying to reconcile myself to putting away my sweatshirts. (I’m a winter person. All the way.) I’ve also been spending way too much time daydreaming about what lenses I would love to get in the future…part of my problem is that I’m getting so into photography that I’m afraid it’s creeping up in importance and might possibly surpass that of design. Not that that’s a bad thing.

I suppose I’ve finally decided rambling is okay. I’m a horrible writer when it comes to personal things – ask me to write a tutorial on some coding or some technical explanation, and I’m fine. It’s when it comes to blog posts or anything similar that I hit a wall. So I’ve decided the remedy will need to be to just write exactly what I would say if we were all talking together. Which leads me to this – thank you, friends, all of you who have faithfully followed this blog of mine and who have been so kind and encouraging. Thank you for bearing with me as I try to figure out where my place is in the online world, thank you for still commenting on my posts even when I’ve been woefully negligent of your own blogs (I’m working on that. I promise.), and thank you for being such a wonderful source of feedback when it comes to my own work. It has meant and does mean very much to me, and through it I know I’ve grown as an artist. I hope this blog can somehow be an enjoyable place to you, and that you’ll keep coming back. ♥
