Life & Things

I think I’m officially addicted to coffee. I got up today, did my normal morning routine minus the coffee, and got to work – but I did not feel like working. I just felt kind of tired and in the mood to sit around and read. Fast forward to the afternoon. I had a cappuccino and totally felt back to normal. Is this a problem? Or a good thing? I think it’s probably the later. ;)

It’s been kind of a weird week for me – in between working with clients I’ve been overhauling my website. The only reason I’m doing this is because it just doesn’t have the right amount/type of content it needs, and I also have been going in a slightly different visual direction, so I decided I would just redo the whole thing and make it more content-oriented, as well as a little more traditional in terms of the general layout. Inspiration struck in the middle of the week, so I’ve been going full steam ahead with that. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned about myself, it’s that working on my own projects is harder than working on a client project…I am more picky and opinionated than they ever are! When that happens I normally end up being indecisive and just put everything off. So when I start loving whatever I’m working on and have a constant flow of ideas, I have to seize that before it’s gone. Is that a thing with designers? That designing for a client is a million times easier than working for yourself?

I thought I would just put up the new blog design now instead of waiting…it’s very similar to the site and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! My favorite part is the evergreen background. (although I don’t actually know what that greenery is. It looks kind of like pine branches…just smaller and not as stiff. Oh well. I’m not a plant person.) Anyway, that’s what my week has been like…I’m hoping to have everything done within two weeks, but we’ll see how that goes.

I love it! I’ve been really inspired with pictures again recently so my header for my design site is a picture of water: http://www.nataliarosa.com. I always love your blog design. You’re so good at keeping your brand identidy and changing up the look. Love

    • I love your site! And your logo especially…it’s so clean and modern. =) Yeah a week or so ago I tried going to your old site and saw it wasn’t there anymore…I was wondering if you were re-doing things! It’s looking great.

Thank you! I’m still hoping to add in somewhere my own handwriting. Make it more personal. We shall see. I love how we both have pictures as headers but it’s so unique. Just from looking at your Pinterest evergreens are a favorite of yours. They’re just Hannah-ish. And the water is actually a picture of mine from El Salvador a place I hold incredibly dear to me.

    • That sounds neat! I love handwriting too…there’s something about the uniqueness of it that makes it so fun to use. I know! We have kind of similar layouts, etc. and neither of us knew what the other was doing! haha great minds think alike. ;) You took that photo? It’s beautiful!! It looks like it could be in an issue of Kinfolk. =)
