This morning I got up with the sun – and I am so glad I did. My alarm clock went off and I didn’t move, just trying to decide if it was worth it to get up when I was still so tired. Well, it was. I have never seen a sunrise more gorgeous than it was this morning – with the mist and light, shadows on the grass, and the cold air. I had brought my camera with me (I was walking our dog), because I had decided I needed some photos from the last day of 2011. The sunrise was hard to see from the top of the street, so Rusty and I went down to the other end…and saw this. Wow, was it gorgeous. And I was so excited to actually capture the sunlight through the mist – something I have always wanted to do but never quite have succeeded at.

What a beautiful way to end 2011.

Today was a day of capturing tiny moments, the last few hours of 2011; preparing for 2012; wondering what the coming year will hold for me and my family. Today was a simple day of pure beauty and peacefulness, a reminder of God’s faithfulness.

I think I’m ready for the new year, for a fresh start and another 365 days.
