spring 002spring 005

Have you ever gotten that feeling, right in the middle of life, that the door is shut on your past? That what happened a week, a month, a year ago is irrevocably gone? That no matter how hard you wish, no matter how hard you try, that part of life is gone forever?

spring 009Until now I’d never felt this way about my past, never felt the finality of knowing that a new chapter in my life has begun, and that the past chapters have been written, read, and closed. It’s kind of sad, you know? I miss the people who were a part of my life a few years ago, who are gone now. I never thought I’d say that about some of them, but there you have it. It really is true that you never fully value or love a person until they’re taken away from you – and that’s when you realize how much you loved them.

Sorry for the rather sad post. But I’ve been thinking about these things recently, especially since I’ll be eighteen tomorrow, and I just wanted to share that with you all. What are your thoughts? Have you ever felt like that before?

*And I just have to say it – ♬♫I am seventeen going on eighteen!♫♬*

Happy birthday ;) I remember when I turned eighteen, I woke up with a sad sort of melancholy. But, hey, one thing’s end is another’s beginning! You have your whole life ahead of you. Keep the good times in your memories and heart, but keep moving forward.

Happy Birthday! I know how you feel. I’ve been feeling like everything is over and gone, especially as some of my friends are starting to graduate :( I just remind myself that there are tons of good times ahead, too :)

    Happy (belated) birthday, Hannah!!!! =D

Yes, I know what you mean. Chapters of my life with dance and certain friendships have closed. I always thought of it as a bittersweet time–the old chapter is closing, but a new one is beginning! One of my favorite quotes about this is from Anne of Green Gables:

Anne’s horizons had closed in since the night she had sat there after coming home from Queen’s; but if the path set before her feet was to be narrow she knew that flowers of quiet happiness would bloom along it. The joy of sincere work and worthy aspiration and congenial friendship were to be hers; nothing could rob her of her birthright of fancy or her ideal world of dreams. And there was always the bend in the road!

“`God’s in his heaven, all’s right with the world,'” whispered Anne softly.

Thanks girls! =D You’re all very sweet. =) Yeah, I guess we all go through things like that in life, sooner or later. Emily Grace, I love that quote! =D Anne of Green Gables is definitely one of my favorite series. ;)
